About MAVE

MAVE, EESTEC LC Budapest (Electrical Engineering Students' Hungarian Association) was founded in 1986 with the aim of broadening the knowledge and widening the horizons of engineering students.

Since its foundation the association has been a member of the Electrical Engineering STudents European assoCiation (EESTEC). At the beginning the non-profit student organization arranged short-term exchange programmes, guiding foreign colleagues in Hungary. The situation has changed by the gross, it is difficult to list the activities of the organization; no wonder LC Budapest is kept count of among the best local committees of EESTEC. Nevertheless, our principles are unchanged: the MAVE is determined to offer unique experience to young people, no matter if it is a summer rowing tour, a perspiratory but interesting programming competition, presentations by acknowledged experts, an international conference or life-long friendships.

With the recent years’ high-profile events our reputation has grown as well, permitting us to be supported by not only the best academic professionals, but also by members of the for-profit sector, professionally, financially and with ideas. Beside our members’ notable professional achievements, all the above-mentioned would not worth anything if the organization did not remain an unbound fellowship. The membership of this association not merely means opportunities but also delight. From the general studentry, more than half-a-hundred people can travel abroad to our partner organisations’ events.

The MAVE is a dynamic organisation, we lay stress on development and rejuvenation. We are happy to receive new ideas, new members any time. That is way, in autumn 2008, our image was renewed and a new website was designed, that we firmly believe to better satisfy everyone’s curiosity. Most of our members are students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, but we welcome any other university’s engineering students.

In the 2008/2009 academic year, MAVE further broadened its range of activities. Our outstanding corporate relations enable us to launch additional courses, introducing new topics. In addition to the standard engineering and informatics subjects, courses offering economic knowledge start off, thereby widening the students’ horizon.

MAVE sets a high price on cooperation with other non-profit civil organisations, thus MAVE is a member of – besides EESTEC – Association of Higher Education Student Organisations (FDE), cooperative partner of the Scientific Association for Infocommunications Hungary (HTE), the John von Neumann Computer Society (NJSZT) and IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers).
